Renovation of Morant Bay High School Nursing Station
This project will upgrade the existing nursing space at the Morant Bay High School to make it more useful and efficient for attending to students and staff who have medical issues during the school day. The project,will include renovation of the physical space and provision of medical equipment and supplies.

A $10,000 and Rotary Foundation matching district grants has been approved to fund the project. The Rotary Club of All Nations is partnering with the Rotary Club of East Kingston & Port Royal and the Morant Bay High School Alumni Association to implement the project.
Equipment to be used in the nurse's area will be purchased locally to support the local economy and to avoid issues with importation.

Equipment will include:
A mobile patient monitor to measure blood pressure, blood oxygen levels, EKG and temperature
2 portable blood oxygen monitors
Defibrillator
Nebulizer
Suction machine
Procedure trolley
Privacy screens
Spine board
AC inverter

Room 1 (R1) will be converted into a waiting area with chairs and educational material for those waiting for care.

Room 2 (R2) will be used as an observation area, with three beds (with privacy screens), a hand-wash station, and medical equipment.
​
Room 3 (R3) will be the main activity area,and nurse's office, with a hand-wash station and examination couch to assess persons seeking care.

The toilet will be re-positioned and a shower enclosure installed in the bathroom.
